Most of my education has been a multidisciplinary endeavor in combining genetics, anthropology, and linguistics. This led me to concentrate my studies on evolutionary genetics and human origins. I have recently graduated with an MPhil in Human Evolutionary Studies from the University of Cambridge, where my research focused on the modern human and archaic hominin admixture scenario.
My previous research experiences vary from cell biology to epigenetics, and lately, animal genomics. These different experiences have allowed me to become familiar with both bioinformatics and bench work. I am now interested in combining virology, population genetics, and evolutionary genetics to better understand human health. As a DPhil student, my project concentrates on investigating the role of endogenous retroviruses in potential human pathology.
